“From early days homebrewing in Carson’s carport, to selling our first beer, it’s been a fantastic ride. We are fortunate to call Boone home, and are thrilled to give back and help
Make | Boone | Shine.”

Early Days
It all started on January 8th, 2012 during a conversation at a local yogurt shop. After many hours homebrewing, reading stacks of books, and visiting countless breweries, we had a plan.

A good friend came up with the idea to call our beer and the brewery, “Booneshine.” At first, we laughed (you know, moonshine), but the more we thought about it, the more we liked it. We would call our beer Booneshine and our mission would be to make the High Country a better place - Make | Boone | Shine.

The brewery opened in July 2015 next door to Basil’s restaurant. We operated in 1,200 square feet with three 10bbl fermentation tanks. It wasn’t long before we needed more fermentation tanks to keep up with demand. Three more 10bbl fermenters were added in late 2016. We started mobile canning in March 2017 and were operating at maximum capacity. Booneshine needed more space to continue growing.

Growing Up
Booneshine acquired the East Boone property in late 2017. We immediately saw the potential for both brewing operations and the tasting room and restaurant. By mid-2018, brewing operations moved to East Boone along with more than double the fermentation capacity.

The tasting room and restaurant opened in July, 2019. It was a true labor of love and included many of our local East Boone friends. The tasting room was designed and built by 4FourtyFour construction. Hardin Creek Timber Frame and Millwork designed and built the patio. Our neighbors in the industrial park played a role as well. The bar stools were built by Charleston Forge, with leather from Carroll Leather. And our menu features country ham from Goodnight Brothers, just across the street.

Beer Garden
In March 2020 we purchased a food truck, built seating, and the High Country’s largest outdoor beer garden was born. Today the beer garden is host to trivia nights, music, private parties and has become a place to meet with old and new friends.

Today
We are grateful for the way Booneshine continues to make the High Country a better place. We look forward to seeing you soon.
